Where the Wild Things Are

A quick review for the film, before I forget.

Not Spike Jonze's best work, Where the Wild Things Are is nonetheless an intruiging mood piece that doesn't actually go many places. The atmosphere of a child's imagination, the repetition of thought, is lovingly embodied here. If you yearn for a bit more of narrative direction, the film probably isn't for you. The passing of childhood, the daze of trying to tell it all, the delerious invention - it's all here. The middle sags, but really, that doesn't take away from a touching film that deserves a second watch.

However, if the film isn't for you, the soundtrack for the film is great. It's by Karen O and the Kids and I think you should buy it. Stand out tracks? Worried Shoes, Igloo and Hidaway are good bets, so go ahead and download them.

Bye x
